Founder & Director

Cosgrove & Partners Ltd is headed by former Cabinet Minister and Member of the New Zealand Parliament, Clayton Cosgrove. Clayton served as a Member of Parliament from 1999 until he stood down at the 2017 General Election.

Clayton held a number of senior ministerial portfolios which included: Immigration, Associate Finance, Building and Construction, Small Business, Sport and Recreation, Rugby World Cup, Statistics and Associate Justice.

Prior to entering Parliament, Clayton held senior corporate and public affairs executive roles in New Zealand and internationally, in the telecommunications and resource sectors.

Clayton has extensive international networks across the political spectrum and within the business, sport, media and public sectors, particularly in New Zealand and Australia. Those contacts and personal relationships forged over decades, and his first-hand experience in the political machine, ensure his clients are well-placed to successfully navigate their challenges and opportunities.

With over twenty years experience on both sides of the public relations divide, Juliet brings a deep and extensive understanding of corporate communications, government relations and the media landscape.

Juliet has held senior management roles in both the public and private sectors. In Central Government, Juliet worked as the Chief Advisor to Cabinet Minister, Clayton Cosgrove, as well as a Senior Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition, and as a policy advisor and policy writer.

Juliet was the Communications Manager for the Crusaders Super Rugby team and the Canterbury Rugby Football Union for seven years, before setting up her own communications and corporate affairs consultancy where she has worked with clients from New Zealand and overseas spanning industries as diverse as tourism, sport, energy, construction, local government, aviation and education.

As a former journalist, Juliet has detailed knowledge of how the media operates and what type of approach works when trying to formulate and deliver a message through various media channels. She is a highly experienced writer having been a magazine Editor and contributor.

Juliet brings a combination of extensive experience, creativity and strategic thinking that allows her to help clients deliver meaningful campaigns in an engaging way that gets results, while minimising risk.
